Coppery Raku Vase
Beautiful copper patina on this wheel-thrown vase, which was hand glazed and finished in a raku firing. Raku is a technique inspired by Japanese pottery. Pieces are fired in a kiln at relatively low temperature, then taken out while glowing hot and placed with combustible materials. When those materials ignite, the resulting reaction creates colors and patterns on the pottery surface. This vase is suitable for dried arrangements. Raku pottery is porous and will not hold water. Beautiful gift or addition to your home decor.
