2020 BENEFICIARIES
This year's event will benefit eight organizations that help feed more than 6,700 Warren County residents.
Primary beneficiaries of this year's event are Warren County's two largest food pantries, serving an average 3,700 clients per month. The Lebanon Food Pantry and The Pantry at Franklin Area Community Services (FACS) will be eligible to receive up to $5,000 each, depending on how much money is raised. All proceeds over the first $10,000 will be divided and awarded to six secondary beneficiaries:
LEBANON FOOD PANTRY
The Lebanon Food Pantry provides one of the highest volumes of food assistance in Warren County, serving about 1,350 people in 385 households in the Lebanon School District each month. Founded by a group of volunteers in 1985, the non-profit pantry is underwritten by 13 area churches and staffed by more than 100 volunteers. Food drives by schools, businesses and service organizations supply about 40 percent of what the pantry needs each year, which means the pantry must find funds to purchase the other 60 percent. Lebanon Food Pantry is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization located in the City of Lebanon’s historic Academy Building, at 190 S. New St. in Lebanon. Operating hours are 9 a.m. to noon, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. For assistance, call 513-932-3617. THE PANTRY at FACS
The Pantry at FACS, 345 Main St. in Franklin, is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization providing emergency assistance to residents of Franklin, Springboro, and Carlisle, including Franklin and Carlisle Townships. FACS operates the largest food pantry in Warren County. It helps meet the food needs of more than 2,300 people each month, providing a basket containing 3 to 5 days of groceries depending on family size. FACS also serves as a distribution site for low-income seniors enrolled in Commodity Supplemental Food Program and offers a financial assistance program for prescription medication and utility disconnection. Visit the FACS web site for more information and other ways you can help. For assistance, contact the pantry at 937-746-7791. |
